The Horrific life:     Millions of people if not billions are cashing in with the horror genre, what keeps this genre going, what keeps it so interesting, and why is it one of the most sold genre in every form and shape…One thing is for sure the following characters contribute immensely to the most part to making horror movies, stories this mega success it came out to be:     The Actors        Arnold Schwarzenegger (Predator)   Sigourney Weaver (Alien) Donald Sutherland (Needful Things, Invasion of the body Snatchers)   (one of my favorites)   Kieffer Sutherland (Flat liners) Winona Wider (Dracula, Beetle Juice)   John Cusack (1408)   Al Pacino (The Devil’s Advocate)   Keanu Reeves (Constantine)   Aaliyah (Queen of the Damned)   Bratt Pitt (Interview with a Vampire)   Samuel L. Jackson (1408)  and there are so many more...        The Directors                                                      Steven Spielberg (E.T., War of the Worlds, Alien, Predator and so many more…he is one of the greatest directors in cinema right now)   Neil Jordan ( Interview with A Vampire)     There are so many more great directors, we give you those two for now...let it sink in.       The Writers        Stephen King ( Pet Semetary, Green Mile, It, the Shining, Riding the bullet, 1408, Kingdom Hospital, DreamCatcher, the Golden Years, Cujo, Needful Things and so many short stories he wrote to become TV miniseries, box office sensations, long lasting memories…       Melissa Mathison ( E.T.)    Anne Rice (Interview with a Vampire)here  are so many great horror writers but those three are the masters of this genre...there will be more to come  --------------------------------------------     The movies that made box office headlines this first half of the year alone:     Dead Silence: You scream you die, is basically the scare of this thriller, this ventriloquist will try her best to scare the jeepers creepers out of you, it’s your best choice to keep from screaming because if you do, she’s got you…you become her newest addition to her dummy collections. Dead Silence is one of the creepiest movies of this year and I can’t wait for numero dos.     1408: This movie is not as suspenseful as the book was but it brought out all the elements of a perfect scare, I especially like this line when John was stuck in the hotel room, bound to relive the sordid hour over if he does not end his own life… and the phone rang, a female voice was at the other end and said:”In our hotel we believe in free will, or you can choose to use our express checkout…” that was so freakishly disturbing!     Hostel Part II: Just like the prequel, it’s grotesquely scary, you will be both satisfied you went to see this movie and relieved… you know who you are, you know you got those discerning thoughts running through your mind from time to time especially when you sat there in the movie theater watching all the little details and equipment those butchers used to decapitate each victims or in your case each subjects. Note to self: stay away from Hostels in Foreign Countries especially European Countries unless you know for a fact you are not worth half a penny to be killed for, you know that you will be more of a dissatisfaction than pleasure to get tortured for fun.     Captivity: Who in their right mind will not be terrified of being held captive by some psychopath…Especially, when they feel there is a way out… but really who are we kidding…? This captives are bound to feel all of the wrath of their abductor before they can face him or her or even get help.     28 Weeks later: In the same spirit as the prequel, this zombie thriller is even more provocative and terrifying than the other, it actually has a plot that will make you tear a little. If you are looking for gory flesh eating zombies this will make up for it.     The number 23: Anything that has the number three in it or the number six is supposed to be scary, this movie did delivered the horror and the demented…I never thought Jim Carey could play a character like this but he made it happen. The title is very significant as it worked to set the theme for the movie; it makes perfect sense once you get a chance to watch “23”.     The Messengers: A family of four moved in a Country side house, that had minor repairs to be done, little did they know that there was more to the house that meets the eyes. The family who used to live in the house got murdered and some of the town people believed otherwise, they think that they picked up and left one day, more baggage than they were bargaining for…After they welcome a complete stranger into their home, in order to help out with the farm once its harvest season, they start feeling the wrath of the underworld that set up house in their basement.     Halloween: Following the tradition this last addition to the horrifying tale of Mike Myers will keep you on the edge of your seat, it will be out soon in Theaters in August 2007. It is bound to keep you entertain from start to finish…Halloween fans; you will get your money’s worth.     Get your horror on!
