The Shining (1980) starring Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall is one of the most terrifying movies of all times. The visual landscapes within the walls of the Overlook Hotel alone are so eerie when mixed with the absence of people, except for the Torrance family who are hotel seating through the winter, and the supernatural element can throw any mentally stable person over the edge. For the likes of Johnny, it would be especially harder to stay sane. The Shining is absolutely one of my favorites from Stephen King; needless to say that it is spattered with some of the most obscure scenes that are deemed WTF moments in any viewer's perspective.

The one WTF scene that I am claiming for this week is from The Shining and goes like this:

As an hysterical Wendy is frantically running through the halls, after seeing finally the similar events Johnny has been experiencing of the 1920's party, she accidently peers through an open door and she sees shapes huddled together. In full focus, the shapes are revealed to be of two men who were potentially engaging in oral sex. While there is nothing wrong with that potentiality except if you are part of the anti same gender police, but what particularly caught our attention and threw us over the level of accepted abnormalcy was their attire du jour, as one of the men was wearing a full-on "bear suit", not the sexy kind sorry. The Bear Suit guy, completely assorted with a bear mouth and teeth, is conveniently kneeled in front of his possible lover, who is dressed in what appear to be a black tie vest and white shirt, so classy and such a contrast from the bear suit. Nonetheless, they both turn to stare back at Wendy intently.

What was the purpose of this scene if not to push the envelop and create that questionable stillness in our minds if only for a minute? Supreme WTF moment for me!

WTF moment!

What's up with the bear suit? WTF!
